Favor
- Gain Favor: Kill H-Trolls, Flee, Flee Pixies
- Lose Favor: Kill Pixies, Die
Masefi will give you favor for fleeing, especially from Pixies because she loves them so much. So, where is a convenient Pixie to get to and repeatedly flee from?
The mob Inyasa in Mountain of Lost Souls is perfect for this.
- Full Directions to Inyasa:
nw;#2 w;#4 n;e;look painting;open n;n;#49 w;#8 s;sw;#5 w;#2 sw;nw;#3 w;d;sw;#2 s;e;ne;nw;u;open foliage;e
To automate this process you can make a few easy triggers:
1. Set up a trigger on her name to auto-attack her and then flee 2. Set up a trigger to keep retrying flee until it actually works 3. Set up a trigger on the adjacent room title to re-enter her room
In Tintin++/Zmud that would look like this (For Zmud just replace #ACTION with #TRIGGER)
#ACTION {Inysa glows with an aura of divine radiance.} {kill inyasa;open foliage;flee} #ACTION {You attempt to flee from combat but can't escape!} {flee} #ACTION {Ascending the Mountain Path} {open foliage;e}
Note that she will close her door (key 'foliage') sometimes, so I added door opens to those just in case that happens. Most of the time it'll be open and you'll just waste a command, but better safe than sorry)
I'd also suggest making another trigger to disable all those triggers so you can STOP this routine once you're done favoring.
#ALIAS {stop} { #UNACTION {Inysa glows with an aura of divine radiance.}; #UNACTION {You attempt to flee from combat but can't escape!}; #UNACTION {Ascending the Mountain Path} }
If you wanna get REALLY fancy, and have MSDP running, you can automate the stop point based on the FAVOR and AFFECTS vars sent in MSDP data, but I'll leave that to you to figure out!
With that automation, it takes about 3 minutes to reach full Loved favor.
Location & Naos
Destination | Connecting Area | Directions |
---|---|---|
Masefi | Blood Sea (Hurricane Island) | #53 w;(scry/scan for "Adrift on the Open Seas" and move there);d;u;d;#3 u;ne |
Naos #1 | Treetops & Canopy | #9 w;sw;#4 w;s;sw;#13 w;u;#5 w;n;#2 w;#6 n;e;#2 n;w;u;e;s;e;#8 s;#3 e;u |
Naos #2 | ??? |
Notes:
- To reach Masefi:
- Have Hide or you'll fight the crab on Hurricane Island.
- Recall is Masefi's room (other rooms on Hurricane Island are no-recall)
- For programming, here is a completely static speedwalk that eliminates the scan/scry requirement in the above dirs:
nw;#2 w;#4 n;e;look painting;open n;n;nw;#2 n;nw;w;#2 nw;#3 w;#2 nw;#2 sw;w;sw;w;nw;#2 n;nw;ne;#3 w;ne;nw;n;nw;w;nw;#4 n;d;#2 nw;#2 d;n;u;d;e;nw;#3 u;ne
- To reach Naos #1:
- Have Hide or you'll fight stuff in Treetops.
- To exit Naos #1, go down.
- The other exits also lead back down into upper Canopy, but slightly east/west of where you went 'up' to the Naos, so create confusion.
Crystal Prism
Masefi offers a Bonus item:
Object 'the crystal prism of Masefi' is infused with your magic... It is a level 5 treasure, weight 1. Special properties: hum This treasure has a gold value of 1.
- To obtain the Crystal Prism:
- Visit Elemental Canyon
- Kill elemental eddie's until you obtain 'an elemental staff of wind and air'
- Visit Masefi (On Hurricane Island)
- Give her the staff
- Visit Elemental Canyon
- This is a teleportation wand that will send you to random rooms within 7 areas:
- Must be in an 'outside' room to use.
To invoke the power of Masefi, speak aloud the phrase from the list below: Masefi, take me to the Ashen Forest Masefi, take me to the Forest of Tears Masefi, take me to the Forgotten Woods Masefi, take me to the Mire Masefi, take me to the Northern Plains Masefi, take me to the Southern Mountain Range Masefi, take me to the Wastelands
Each time you say the phrase, you are teleported to a new room in that area. You can keep saying it to keep teleporting to a new room in the same area.
I haven't fully tested to see if there is a finite list of 'landing rooms' or if it's all rooms in the area, but you can play around with it and see.
Seems kinda useful to hop around the realms, and especially for quests in one of those areas, you can teleport randomly around only that area looking for quest stuff.
Note that sometimes it teleports you into an 'indoor' room, so you then have to walk back outside to use it again.
Priest
Tumbling Whirwinds
Help File: WHIRLWIND WHIRLWINDS 'THE WHIRLWINDS'
Room Desc:
An erratic funnel of twisting air streaks wildly through the area. Tumbling whirlwinds is surrounded by cascading torrents of energy.
Long Desc:
About all that can be made out through the swirling air and debris is a pair of deep blue, mischievous eyes. Many people greet these beings with mirth, having little concept of just how far these whirlwinds will go in creating their havoc. It is best not to get cornered by one of these priests, there is no telling what they will do. Tumbling whirlwinds is covered in blood. Tumbling whirlwinds is using: <worn about body> a funnel of swirling air You peek at her inventory: Nothing.
Progs to Non-Masefi Devoted Chars:
Room Entry:
A sudden rush of air smacks you in the face. Alas, you cannot go that way.
(I'm not sure which way the rush of air is trying to send me, it never succeeds)
Progs To Undevoted Chars:
Room Entry:
A voice speaks to you from inside the swirling air. Seek our high Naos PLAYER, you belong with us...
You say 'naos' The currents of air suddenly jumble in confusion.
Progs to Chars Devoted to Masefi:
You say 'naos' You get the feeling that the entity is unhappy with you.
In addition to the usual Room Description, when devoted to Masefi you see:
Your are surrounded by a current of rushing air.
Dyr's Hot Take
Masefi ain't too shabby, I'm a fan.
The re-favoring method is ultimately very easy to program, and (I think) the only deity where you can cheese it right up to full Loved favor.
The wand is kinda cool too. If you have the whole game mapped and can immediately know where you've landed then it's a solid piece to hop around the game. If you don't have a full map, it may just end up making you confused where you landed and wasting time.
