Equipment & Align
Thieves 'circle' alpha-attack is based on DR, thieves dress to max DR above all else.
- Devout: Fairly uncommon, difficult to achieve high DR as a new player
- Neut: The most popular align for thieves, unlocks high DR equipment pieces
- Evil: The easiest align to dress a thief for, will achieve decently high DR
- Subject to mobs having 'protection' spell reducing damage by 1/4.

Summary
Thieves are the boomers of realms. For years and years they were the 'best' character since circle is uncapped and scales with DR, they hit the hardest and having high dex (25) makes them great hitters.
These days, with Prestige options, there are plenty of characters that can be used for various runs, there are only a few left where you would really want/need to bring a Thief.
Gameplay-wise, they're boring. They get no magic, no fun skills, they just hit. Circle has long lag (4 bars), so its basically a game of circling.... waiting to see how much damage you eat.... quaff to full, circle again..... repeat until you die of old age. There is not much more to them.
Thieves are needed a full places just to pick locks, detrap, etc. At this point that's basically the only time I use mine. (I was primarily a Thief for like the first 15 years I played, turns out that was a horrible idea, and I find all the other classes vastly more fun now).
Prestige
- Thief-Multiclass Options:
- Thieves can cross with: Warrior, Cleric, Druid, Mage
